The fieldtrip will be on 27-28 May. We will travel from Hull on the evening of 26th following the Workshop and back to Hull on 28th May. Travel from Hull to Anglesey is approximately 3.5 hours. We can do stop offs at Bangor Station for those who would like to head off on Sunday evening. You are also free to drive your own vehicle if that is more convenient. Saturday 27th May – SW Coast Rhosneigr – Aberffraw
Briefly look at the New Harbour Group Monian then we will spend the rest of the day examining the Lower Palaeozoic successions on the coast SE of Rhosneigr. We will be looking at evidence for unconformable relationships within the successions and across the Central Anglesey Shear Zone and across a large isoclinal fold.
Sunday 28th May – NE Coast Dulas – Lligwy Bay
We will examine the younger (but still Palaeozoic) successions and structure on the NE coast. Following this we will look at deformation in the Old Red Sandstones at Lligwy Bay.
